U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams confirmed for 2025 World Games
The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced the teams that will participate in the 2025 World Games, slated for August 6-17, 2025, in Chengdu, China. As a top-ranked country in both men’s (No. 6) and women’s (No. 1) disciplines, Team USA has earned a spot in the competition, with the men’s tournament taking place from August 6-10, while the women’s tournament is set for August 13-17.

Alongside the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) at the 2025 World Games will be world-ranked No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 5 Netherlands and No. 6 Canada, in addition to host No. 12 China. A wild card has also been awarded to No. 10 Australia as the highest-ranking team in Oceania.
On the men’s side, Team USA will be joined by No. 1 Argentina, No. 2 Australia, No. 3 Japan, No. 4 Canada and No. 5 Venezuela, while No. 13 Singapore and No. 7 Czechia have been awarded wild cards.
Proving to be a successful sport at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, the women’s softball competition drew record-breaking attendance for both the duration of the tournament and a single event. The 2025 edition of the World Games will mark the fourth appearance for women’s softball and the second for men’s softball, as men’s softball is making a return to the World Games after a 44-year absence with the last tournament taking place in 1981 in Santa Clara, California, during the inaugural event.
